Every single one of our wonderful early childhood education teachers and helpers here at La Canada has had abundant experience with children just your preschool child’s age. We understand what calms them down, how preschool students learn best, how they like to have fun, what preschool books they enjoy and how to make them feel safe. How do we know? We have children of our own, and decades of experience as childhood educators.
Our Director…
Debbie Ficarra, has been teaching since 1987, and has been the director of La Canada Preschool since 2003—for almost two decades! Debbie has six children, two grandchildren, and a lifetime of experience caring for little ones.
Our Assistant Director…
Is Debbie’s husband, Hugo Ficarra! Together, they make a perfect teaching-team, just like they did when raising their own six children.
Our Teacher Cindy…
Taught at La Canada for half a decade before stepping away to raise her wonderful children—and now that they’re all grown up, Cindy Finch has returned teach with us again, (with plenty of experience gained along the way up her sleeve!)
Our Teacher Tony…
Has been teaching alongside our director Debbie since 1997, and is married and has a daughter, Yasmine. Tony earned his degree in Early Childhood Education from Pasadena City College.
Our Teacher Jackie…
Jackie has spent fifteen years teaching young children, and has also taught at UCLA and the University of Missouri as a professor!
