Memorial Park : La Canada
Here you will find local families enjoying the well shaded park, that while sma ll offers a large area for children to play. This is also a sweet social hub for the La Canada community. You can find music in the park, Saturday farmers market access, as well as season events for families. In the spring there is a wonderful weekend of activities called Fiesta Days, including a parade and fireworks. Hahamongana Watershed Park: Pasadena
While registered in Pasadena, this gem of a park is across the street from La Canada High School. While known for frisbee golf, this park offers a great place to introduce preschoolers to hiking. Level, easy with lots of Oak trees. 1300 acres of the Arroyo Seco to explore. Picnic tables, restrooms and shade as well as sun. My own children learned to love nature here, as it was local to La Canada and so easy to visit. Gets busy on the weekends, so get here early. It is close to JPL. A great place to introduce preschoolers to. Fun to see other families out hiking. Start a tradition or introduce your children to a great outdoor experience.
Two Strike Park: La Crescenta
Three miles from La Canada, up the hill, 2 Strike Park is beautiful. Set in a residential neighborhood. Offering a expansive outdoor play area, plenty of areas to explore. Great place for a birthday party. You can also bring bikes here. This area is very safe, quiet and creates a fun place to enjoy being with you child outdoors. Great place to take pictures with lots of greenery and trees. With 5 acres it offers some fun areas to explore.
Take time to smell the roses. Get out in this beautiful community with your child. This is science with social, physical and cognitive development for them. It is free, you will meet new families, and the benefits are immense. I met some great families, learned about local schools, and enjoyed taking my own children to these parks.
